WRITTEN AD

Typically 150-250 words in length, this will be the initial introduction a buyer has to your business. As a buyer will view hundreds of these ads in their search, it is important to stand out & highlight the strengths a buyer will be looking for in your business.  The written ad also includes a relevant stock photo to use when posting.

 

Sale Detail Sheet

Typically 1-2 pages in length, this document is provided to buyers who have signed a Confidentiality Agreement and have passed the screening requirements. This document will highlight the main metrics a buyer will initially want to know about. These may include: an overview of your business, brief description of assets such as inventory and equipment, financial information such as revenue, profit, and growth, and potential growth opportunities for the new buyer.

INITIAL & FOLLOW UP BUYER SCREENING

Many prospective buyers will respond expressing interest in your business after it is listed. In order to maintain confidentiality(and reduce your risk) it is important that a Confidentiality Agreement is signed. Initial buyer screening includes follow up with all inquiries to ensure they pass the initial buyer screening requirements as well as sign a confidentiality agreement.  If all requirements are met they will be sent the initial sales details sheet, and any other information you request be sent at that point.

Follow up Buyer Screening includes following up with all buyers who have received the initial sale sheet to see if they are still interested in pursuing your business opportunity.  We will follow up with all prospects at least 3 times until we receive a response. If a prospective buyer indicates they are interested in continuing down the sales path, we will send them the “Detailed Information Package”

This process allows you to quickly filter out unsuitable buyers without releasing unnecessary confidential information.

 

Weekly Progress Report

Each week you will be sent a detailed report breaking down the interest in your business. You will see how many views your listing has received, number of inquiries, and where each inquiry is along the sales journey.

 

Detailed Buyer Information Package

The Buyer Information Package lays out in greater detail how your business operates and what makes it an attractive opportunity, without giving away sensitive information that non buyers should not know.  It is used to inspire prospective buyers to continue to make the next steps in the sales process.

The Detailed Buyer Information Package typically includes: an overview of past performance, an overview of the industry and location the business is in, a short description of products or services, basic staffing details, operations overview, description of key strengths, the reason for the sale, details on the building the business is in as well as lease information, the competitive advantages the business has, the type of competition the business has, operating hours, seasonality if applicable, roles of the owner(s), potential concerns a buyer may need to consider, and the offering price and additional terms.
